The origins of Opportunities Unlimited date back to 1991 delivering marketing and professional conference services to its clients.

A founding principal, Allen Dewhirst has been with the company since 1991 and has a wealth of business experience spanning well in excess of 35 years.

Opportunities Unlimited provide extensive professional conference organisation, marketing, project management, sales and ‘ hands on’ expertise to organisations of all sizes, in both short and long term horizons, through to a continuing consultancy service.

In addition to working with many organisations in the professional conference field Allen takes on several long-term consultancy assignments including:
 

ANZ Banking Group New Zealand,
Auckland National Sales Manager.

Directed ANZ Branch Retail Network sales throughout New Zealand responsible for 2,400 staff via 17 District Managers through 225 retail outlets. Implemented ten strategies with the retail staff and gained immediate results orientated implementation. Halted a two-year decline in Home Loan Market share turning it into positive growth.

 

Telstra Corporation Ltd,
Melbourne Project Consultant.

Responsible for the implementation of a new concept from it’ s conception to its implementation. Successfully delivered the first in car credit card telephone facility in Australia on time on budget.

 

National Australia Bank Ltd,
Melbourne General Manager, Sales & Service.

Working from the ground up responsible for the introduction of a sales focus and ultimately a sales culture that changed the way the bankers and managers approached their sales responsibilities. Standardisation was achieved across all retail outlets. A change from a ‘ Credit Culture’ to a Sales Culture was achieved.

 

Spotless Catering Services Ltd,
Melbourne General Manager.

Responsible for the development of marketing and sales as well as initiating a training program throughout Australia and New Zealand. Achieved increased revenues.

 

Hertz Rent A Car Australia Pty Ltd,
Melbourne Managing Director.

Total responsibility for the operation of the company throughout Australia with revenues in excess of $160 million, 250 retail outlets and 600 employees. Reporting to a Board of Directors the Managing Director was responsible for all aspects of the business including operations, marketing, sales, funding negotiations as well as franchise management.
